For those who wish we provide the option of following a structured grading program, but we often find it benefits the progress of the student to adopt a more flexible approach that suits their personal goals, musical ability and preferences.

Lessons cover all aspects of keyboard playing, including technique, awareness and appreciation of different musical styles and genres, musical theory and reading music.
Playing with other musicians…
Where possible, students are given the opportunity to play along with other musicians in a band situation. This really adds an extra dimension to the lessons, it’s great fun, pupils find it motivating and inspiring, and it often helps things to “click into place”.

First started when I was 7yrs whilst sitting on my grandmother’s lap as she played the church organ!

I’m often asked to teach everything from Elton John, to Rachmaninoff, Dua Lipa, to wish you happy birthday. Such an extensive range doesn’t allow me to have one single song that sticks in my head.

Whistling! I can do it breathing in but not breathing out. Don’t know how people do it!
